We invest in the entire poultry ecosystem by supplying 60,000 small-scale growers and upskilling & empowering women owned enterprises.
discover our community
Our investment into the high capital integration part of chicken farming – including breeders, hatcheries and feed mills – makes becoming a grower simple and sustainable.
We start by ensuring that wherever we operate we introduce world-class facilities and adopt global best practices.
High-quality broiler chicks are supplied to local growers, making their initial investment lucrative and rewarding; producing high-quality protein using modern, efficient broiler genetics, whilst minimising feed consumption.
We make sure that the impact we make is one that can continue throughout our communities for generations to come.
Our Community Impact
Through training and upskilling, our growers are not only able to sustain their families, but they make quality protein affordable and accessible across their communities; communities we see as our very own.

Our partner’s success stories are what drives us every day.
Graca Inacio Zandamela
Location: Mozambique (Maputo)
Through partnerships with inspirational women like Graca, we can supply the individual businesses that grow our industry and uplift our continent.
From opening her own business to opening the door to a university education for her children, Graca’s small business has been, and will continue to impact generations to come. Having partnered with us in 2017, Graca started off with 100 chicks per cycle, growing her investment to produce 300 chicks per cycle over 8 cycles per year.
Graca’s market is her direct community, selling chickens to friends, family and anyone in Maputo. By supplying her with high-quality broiler chicks and technical support, Graca’s initial investment is not only financially rewarding but has allowed her to educate her children and build her own dream home.
Keikagile Phirinyane
Location: Botswana (mochudi)
Elengos Farm
This is a shared story of dreams, fuelling a business that has gone beyond providing for a family to one that impacts a community. It’s women like Keikagile who show us that Africa’s true potential is waiting to hatch.
Keikagile started poultry farming in 2019, partnering with Irvine’s Botswana in 2021 when she began buying day-old chicks from our Grower’s Shop. Having successfully established her own small business, Keikagile outgrew her rental space and today houses her 12,000 chickens on her very own farm.
Self-determination and hard work are the power behind Keikagile’s success and at Irvine’s we’ve been privileged to support her journey through training, resources, services and hands-on expertise. By providing access to industry best practice and our continued partnership, we have helped catalyse her small business beyond poultry. Keikagile now also owns a butchery and restaurant, supplying both with her quality chicken.
Lenarda Makenge
Location: Tanzania (Mbweni)
From our first meeting, we continue to support Lenarda’s business through high-quality broiler chicks and hands-on technical expertise, partnering to see Lenarda reach beyond her goals. Growing our continent together, one sustainable community at a time.
When faced with the challenges of a COVID economy, Lenarda, a mother of three, saw an opportunity to provide for her family and began growing chickens. Beginning her Irvine’s journey in 2022 with 500 chicks a year, today, Lenarda produces 1500 chickens per cycle. As a woman determined to continue to grow her business, Lenarda is re-investing her profits, increasing her chicken house to one day realise her dream of 5000 chickens per cycle.
Although her initial investment began as a way to provide for her family, Lenarda’s poultry business has grown to become a steady source of income and an important way to supply her remote community with affordable, high-quality protein. Along with her direct community, her primary market are wholesalers who have followed her broiler journey and trust her as a supplier of quality chicken.
Mr. Chakwinga
Location: Zimbabwe (Wedza)
It’s success stories like Mr Chakwinga’s that continually drive us towards excellence. In Mr Chakwinga’s words, “our relationship will continue forever.” That’s the power of trust.
We first partnered with Mr Chakwinga in 2011. By providing him with instant access to top quality chicks as he needed, after only seven months his business had grown from 100 chicks to 500 chicks per cycle. Multiplying exponentially to become 2000 chicks per cycle in 2023. Today, Mr Chakwinga sells his chicks at local markets and with his profits he has been able to take care of his family, school his children, construct a borehole, purchase a 3-tonne truck and buy a stand of land.
By understanding his vision and the ins and outs of the entire poultry chain, we were able to offer Mr Chakwinga brooding training and best practice technical advice.
Start growing today. Our teams across Africa are ready to connect.
